Grove, OK - A. Jean Dummitt, 81, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. She was born on February 9, 1929 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Milton and Janie (Brogdon) Peterman. She married Robert Dummitt on June 11, 1946 in Independence, Kansas they enjoyed 64 years of marriage. Jean and Robert loved living in Alaska for fourteen years where they were members of Eagle River Baptist Church where she was saved. Jean was a charter member of Independent Baptist Church in Grove. She enjoyed painting, drawing, writing poems and loved to have tea time. She was an avid doll collector. Jean is survived by her husband, Robert; her son Joe Dummitt and wife, Kay, of Grove; her daughter Janie Booth and husband John of Grove; grandchildren Alicia Yost, Tawni Booth, Taryn Branscum and husband Jacob; great grandchildren Mavrick Caswell and Brody Branscum; her sister Faye Baker of Wichita. Private family graveside services will be held at Southwest City Cemetery with Pastor Chester Crittenden officiating.
