Albert Daniel Bench was born June 15, 1928 to Robert Bench and Ethel Lacey-Bench in Afton, Oklahoma. Albert went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 7, 2009 with his family by his side. Mr. Bench was raised in the Chelsea, Oklahoma area. On May 29, 1951, he married the love of his life, Dorothy Mae Broner. Mr. Bench attended Childers Community Church where he was a faithful member and was loved by all. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren hunting and fishing and going to church. He was a very big joker and often played tricks on people anytime he got the chance. Mr. Bench always had a smile on his face and a story to tell, even at the darkest moments of his illness. He made a very big impact on everyone he came into contact with and he was deeply loved and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Mr. Bench is survived by three daughters, Sharon Bench of Nowata, Janet Reeves of Miami, Oklahoma, and Lana Sutterfield and her husband Dewight of Durant; by four sisters, Anna Hughes of Bartlesville, Pearlie Garrett and her husband Tom of Pryor, Bobbie Howard and her husband Buzz, Mary Watts and her husband Andy of Springfield, Mossouri; by 23 grandchildren; by 40 great-grandchildren; by several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Mr. Bench was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; by one son, Steven Bench; by two grandsons, Michael Pinkston and Shane Pinkston; by one granddaughter, Marissa Pinkston; by one great-grandson, Levi Sharbutt; and by several brothers and sisters. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Bench will be held at 10:00am, Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the Glen-Abbey Cemetery in Miami, Oklahoma with Roy and Ellie Stout officiating.
