Albert Lade

February 11, 1925 — May 6, 2012

Albert Lade, of Grove, Oklahoma, died at his home on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the age of 87 years. He was born on February 11, 1925 in Sykkylven, Norway to Andreas and Johanne (Hole) Lade. Albert married the love of his life, Aase Hedquist on June 16, 1956 in Seattle, Washington and they enjoyed over 55 years together. Prior to moving to Grove, they lived in Tacoma, Washington from 1959 until 1999. Albert was a committed Christian and an active member at Life Center Assembly of God in Tacoma until moving to Oklahoma where he worshiped at several churches in Grove. His dynamic faith in Jesus Christ energized his deep love for his beautiful wife, children and grandkids. Albert served in the Norwegian Army in 1945-1946, and worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers in Sitka and Kodiak, AK from 1949-1959. He was then a self-employed building contractor in Tacoma. His hobbies included gardening, growing roses, fishing, camping, traveling, snow skiing and boating. His passion was oil painting. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister and six brothers of Alesund, Norway and Tacoma. Albert and Aase have three children: Rhoda, wife of Chaplain (Col.) Chester Egert, USA, Fort Bragg, NC, Dr. Arvid Lade and wife Terri, Tulsa, OK, and Lise and husband Douglas McKelvey of Spring Hill, TN; seven grandchildren: Kristina (Egert) married to 1st Lt Jeris Durene, USA, Elena (Egert) married to Cameron LaVallie, brothers Joshua and Caleb Lade, sisters Anastina, Ella and Callie McKelvey; and a great grandson, Liam Durene. Albert is dearly loved and will be deeply missed. He has left a godly legacy from which his family continues to benefit and for that they are forever grateful. Private family services will be held May 11, 2012 in Grove with Chaplain Chester Egert officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa.
