Alejandro Mendoza Gonzalez Jr (Cano) was born on October 30, 1949 to Alejandro Canales Gonzalez, and Augustina Mendoza Gonzalez, in Brownsville, Texas. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 30, 2012, at Integris Grove General Hospital. He was 62 years old. Cano married Barbara Ann Smith Gonzalez on August 24, 1968. She survives of the home. Cano was preceded in death by his parents Alejandro and Augustina, and a brother Pablo. Cano and Barbara moved to their current residence between Wyandotte and Grove, in March 1973. Cano worked at Elk River Mobile Homes, O'Brein's Chicken Plant, B.F. Goodrich, Grove Public Schools, and Seneca Cayuga Tobacco Comapany. Cano always worked more than one job, so there are many places not listed. This was due to his migrant working background. Cano and Barbara raised four sons and two nephews, in the Grove Public Schools. Alejandro Antonio Gonzalez III (Tony), and his wife Angie of Eucha, Oklahoma, Jose Arturo Gonzalez, and his wife Denisha, of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, Dallas Wayne Gonzalez and his wife Malinda, of Racine, Missouri, and Ausencio Vincente Gonzalez, and his wife Tamie, of Grove, Oklahoma, his nephews that were kept in the household were Ruben Hernandez of Grove, Oklahoma, and Paulo Gonzalez of Grove, Oklahoma, He had 13 grandchildren, Brittney, Blake, Bear, Joseph, Kelsea, Jesse, Oliver, Sillas, Alyson, Ashley, Dallas, Natasha, and Gunner, and 3 great grandchildren, Lillie, Lexi and Kaiden. Cano has eight surviving siblings, Juanita Rocha, of Brownsville Texas, Rosa Hernandez of Burlington, Iowa, Estason Gonzalez, of Burlington, Iowa, Juan Gonzalez, of Burlington, Iowa, Castulo Gonzalez, of Burlington Iowa, and David Gonzalez, of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, Maria Gonzalez of Houston, Texas, and Jolanda Gonzalez of Burlington, Iowa. Native American services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Council House Cemetery. officiating will be Ceremonial Chief Charlie Dibold and Ceremonial Speaker Paul Barton, as well as Brother Steve Epley.
