Alfred Broyles

Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK 918-786-2261. Alfred was born on May 31, 1921, and raised in Glencoe, Oklahoma. He married Wanda June Elmore on April 11, 1942. Alfred served in the 45th Infantry Division during WWII in Europe where he was wounded. He received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart along with other combat medals. He served again in the Korean War. One of his greatest enjoyments was going to Washington D. C. on an Honor Flight and visiting the WWII and Korean Memorials. He was very proud of his service to his country and being a Veteran. He truly was part of the Greatest Generation. He worked at Continental Oil Company and Mertz Machine Shop in Ponca City, OK, where he retired. After retirement, he and Wanda spent many happy years camping, fishing and boating with friends and family. Alfred and Wanda moved to Grove, OK, in 1999. He later moved to Kimberling City, Missouri, in 2007 and lived there at the time of his death on October 27, 2015. Alfred is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wanda, of 57 years. Survivors include his daughter, Bobbie Carlson and husband Bob of Grove, his son, Marvin and wife Sandi of Kimberling City, MO. He is also survived by Granddaughters Teresa Johnson, Dr. Pamela Richardson, Angi Hager and Kira Schrock, one Grandson, Richie Goss and several great grandchildren. Alfred's service will be led by The Rev. Phil Lawrence under the care of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home at the Funeral Home Chapel, 711 S. Main, Grove, on Monday, November 2nd at 11 AM with burial to follow at Olympus Cemetery. Visitation will be before the service from 9:30 - 11am on Monday as well. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Disabled Veteran's Association, PO Box 25, Branson, MO 65616.
