Alfred "Al" E. Fields passed away at the Grove Nursing Center on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the age of 84. Al was born on December 1, 1927 in Akron, OH, the son of the late Sell Bower and Ela (Daugenberger) Bower. Al grew up in Ohio and attended school there until he joined the United States Army during WWII. After serving his country, Al returned to the states where he started his work in law enforcement. He worked as a bounty hunter, a marshal, he was a Chief of Police, and finished his career in the Delaware County Sheriffs Department. Al enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, golfing, but most of all he loved to be around his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Richard Bower. He is survived by his son Alfred "Rocky" Fields, Jr.; four daughters: Shelia Sleeth of West Virginia, Janet Lee of Ohio, Jeanne Fields of Grove, Sharon Fromeyer of Grove; one step-daughter Kim Granados of Grove; 13 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and best friend Karen Fields. The funeral service will be held at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 10AM with Pastor Tony Wisdom, presiding. The burial will follow at the Bell Cemetery in Watts, OK at 1:30 p.m.. The family will greet friends from 6PM to 8PM at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK on Wednesday, August 8, 2012.
