Alfred Joseph Pickett, 73 year-old Bartlesville resident, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at his home. Graveside services for Mr. Pickett will be held at 10:00a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Silver Lake Cemetery with Roger White officiating. Honorary Casket escorts include Kale Pickett, Stephanie Pickett, Heidi Benoit, Kyle Pickett, Brittney Benoit, Kirk Pickett, Nicholas Benoit and Kasey Pickett. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of AJ Pickett to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association. Alfred Joseph Pickett was born April 25, 1936 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Alfred Leonard Pickett and Alice Jane (Lucas) Pickett. Mr. Pickett attended schools in Bartlesville and graduated from College High with the Class of 1955. After high school, he served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Pickett later became employed as a machinist for Boeing Aircraft. He worked with Boeing until his retirement in 1992. After retiring, Mr. Pickett drove cars for Hertz for a while. He loved visiting with the neighbors on his patio and especially loved visiting with Mrs. Carol about the Lakers. Mr. Pickett also enjoyed the time he spent gathering scrap metal and junk cars with his son, Joel. Mr. Pickett is survived by his wife Iris Pickett; by his mother, Alice Pickett of the Medicalodge of Dewey; by children, Marilyn and her husband Rick Cole of Bartlesville, Seth Pickett of Denver, Colorado, Joel Pickett and his wife Barbara of Murdock, Kansas, Martha and her husband Nick Benoit of Cheney, Kansas; by Seth's child, Stephanie Pickett of Norman, Oklahoma; by Joel's children, Kale Pickett of Murdock, Kansas, Kyle Pickett of Kingman, Kansas, Kirk Pickett of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Kasey Pickett of Murdock; by Martha's children, Heidi Benoit of Wichita, Kansas, Brittney Benoit of Wichita, Kansas and Nick Benoit of Cheney, Kansas; and by one sister, Emma Jane White and her husband Roger of Collinsville, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.
