Allen "Brit" Britton Locklier, Jr, age 68, died on January 12, 2012 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Brit was the son of Allen and Ruth (McManis) Locklier. He was born on January 7, 1944 in Kennedy, Texas. Allen proudly served in the United States Navy. Allen was a fireman for 28 years, retiring from the Clark County Fire Department in Las Vegas, Nevada. He authored a book about memoirs of a fire fighter titled, "On Call". Allen was united in marriage to Mary Lou Preacher on June 2, 2002. He and Mary Lou moved to Grove in 2005. They loved to travel; vacationing in Estes Park, Colorado, Utah, San Diego, and Cabo San Lucas. He also enjoyed building bird houses. Brit was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou of the home; four daughters, Heather Farris and her husband, Matt of Las Vegas, Nevada, Victoria Locklier of Morristown, Minnesota, Angela Chambers of Dallas, Texas and Janet Hawthorne of Neosho, Missouri. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Ashley and husband Plinio, Alicia, Audrie and Austin, and three great-grandchildren, Allen, Keylee, and Landon. Allen is also survived by his brother Dalton Locklier of Dolan Springs, Arizona and a sister Renee Earhart and her husband Ron of Greeley, Colorado, his mother-in-law, Claudene Rice, of Grove, and many other loving family members. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday January 17, 2012 at Independent Baptist Church. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.
