Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita - Allen Lee Maples, 88, of Glendale AZ, formerly of Vinita OK, died Sunday, April 10, 2014. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Sunday at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday April 14 at Family Praise Center in Vinita, Oklahoma with burial in Fairveiw Cemetery, 822 N 2nd St, Vinita, OK. Reverend Jerry Ogdon will officiate the service. Mr. Maples was born October 13, 1925, in, McCurtain Oklahoma, to Jehu Benjamin Maples and Ivy Belle Riley Maples. He was raised in the Whitaker Children's Home in Pryor, Oklahoma from age 7 on. He attended school in Pryor, Oklahoma. He married the love of his life Lois Geraldine Osburn on August 10, 1947, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma by Rev. U.S. Grant in a double ring ceremony. He was a self made man devoted to God, his wife, children (Our Hero), grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his brother and sister. He lived in Borger, Texas and Vinita, Oklahoma for many years prior to moving to Maricopa in 2007. He was an Assistant Manufacturing Superintendent while in Borger at Phillips Petroleum Philblack Plant. He worked there for 39 ½ years traveling to England, Spain, and Columbia to help startup plants. He loved fishing, and golfing. In his golfing career he made a hole in one at Vinita Country Club and shot a 72 at age 79 at Panhandle Country Club. He was a longtime member of the Assemblies of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Edward Maples killed in WWII going to Battle of the Bulge; a son, Eddie Lee Maples; sister, Rosalee Baker; and Wife Lois Maples; Survivors; a daughter, Allene Maples Hain and Husband Jim of Glendale, Arizona; a son, Brad Maples and wife, Sharon of Panhandle, Texas; grandchildren: Autumn Muir and husband Scot, Steven Billington, Stefanie Joseph and husband Ronnie, Heather Smith and husband Jackie, Whitney Rogers and husband Kime; Michelle Hain,and Matt Hain, and great grandchildren: Christopher, Maya, Mason, Tucker ,Taylor, Cameron, Michael, Madyson and Caleb; and a host of nieces and nephews.
