Allene Howard

Allene Beatrice (Ditto) Howard, Grove resident, passed away Tuesday April 12, 2011, following an extended illness at the age of 89 years. She was born on April 30, 1921 in Monroe, Texas to Benjamin and Otto Bell (Fairley) Ditto. Growing up, Allene lived in many different places since her father was an evangelist who traveled by horseback. Allene married the love of her life, Woodrow W. Howard on December 18, 1938 in Muleshoe, Texas. They celebrated 70 years of marriage until his death in May 2009. Allene was a homemaker and farmer's wife, who loved reading the bible and watching cooking shows. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Grove, Oklahoma. She leaves many loving memories with her family, her children, Jeanne Howard Whiteley, Cathleen Howard Ruff and husband James, Wilson Rankin Howard and wife Faye, William Harrison Howard; Grandchildren, Chris and Christine Whiteley, Greg and Cindy Whiteley, Vanessa and Darin Dunn, Brooke Howard and fiancé, Kevin Fosdick, Ashley Howard, Vonda Kay and Joe Zimmerman, David Howard, Brandon and Mary Sires, Gary and Angela O'Daniel; Great-grandchildren, Corinna Whiteley, Derek Zimmerman, Ryan Zimmerman, Lauren Whiteley, Jackson Whiteley, Quinn, O'Daniel, Ashlyn O'Daniel, James Sires, Rebecca Sires, Jon Sires, Samantha Sires, Stephanie Whiteley, Tyler Howard, Hailey Howard, Garrett Dunn, Lucas Dunn, Molly Dunn; Great-great grandchild, Tristan Whiteley as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins that loved her dearly. Visitation will be held 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday April 15, 2011 at Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral Services Celebrating Allene's life will be 10:00 AM Saturday April 16, 2011 at the Church of Christ in Grove. Interment will follow at Olympus Cemetery.
