Allie Kight

January 20, 1924 — September 24, 2013

Allie Odean Kight was born January 20, 1924, in a small town near Electra, Texas, called Newtown. It was a small oil field settlement in the oilfield south of Electra. Her parents were W.J. B. and Anna Bell Sanderson Williams. She left this life Tuesday, September 24, 2013. She was 89 years old. Odean married Harold Kight January 11, 1943 in Dumas, Texas. They were married for over 67 years before his death almost 3 years ago. They had three children. They moved to Owasso in 1952 where Harold worked at Douglas Aircraft and Odean worked in the cafeteria at school. At one time she worked in the pre-natal area of the Osteopath Hospital in Tulsa. She worked at the TG & Y in Owasso. Together, they operated a Tastee Freeze in Rolling Hills in Tulsa for a few years. She was an excellent seamstress. Harold did upholstery on the side and Odean did all of his fancy sewing. After retirement, she and Harold would go to Colorado every summer and camp out for a month. She liked to cook out and see all the beautiful scenery and animals. She especially liked watching the humming birds and chipmunks. Paula and Darrell and Owen and Katy made the trip with them at times. They also met new long lasting friends in the camp area. At age 50 she took painting lessons and began her passion as an artist. She loved to paint scenery, floral, birds and butterflies. And she was good at it. She was her biggest critic. In the last part of her life she and Derek painted together. She gave him some good tips on how to paint. She set up her canvas on the creek bank in Colorado many times. She was very talented. She could do anything with her hands. Odean loved her Kids, Grandkids, and Great Grandkids. She was a wonderful cook and always had cookies, cakes, pies, and sweet tea on the kitchen table for the grandkids and Harold. Odean was one of 7 kids. In their later years they enjoyed family reunions every summer where they played unending games of 42. If one sibling was absent from the reunion they would hold a plate up with that person's name on it for group pictures. They are all reunited now. They have all made their final journey. No more plates. She was a charter member of Central Baptist Church in Owasso. She lived in Owasso for over 60 years. In January of 2012 she made her permanent residence with Joe and Diana in Watova. She loved to go to church at Full Gospel Christian Center. The people of the church made her feel very welcomed and loved. She loved them too. Odean is survived by: One son: Gary and Lindsey Kight of Broken Arrow Two daughters: Barbara Kight of Owasso Diana and Joe Goodin of Watova 7 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren A host of nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by an infant son, Randy Dean Her parents Her husband, Harold 5 Brothers: W.J.
