Grove, OK - Amy LaVaughn Miller, 72, died Friday night, February 9, 2007 at Freeman Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit, Joplin, Missouri. LaVaughn was born September 23, 1934 near Swedeborg, Missouri to Everett Carr and Josie (Blackson) Carr. She married Leonard C. Miller on August 4, 1955. Mr. Miller preceded his wife in death on December 31, 1993. LaVaughn was a cook & baker for many years in the Kansas City area. After moving to Grove, Oklahoma, she worked part-time as a cook at the Welcome Inn. LaVaughn had also worked for Hallmark Cards and was a member of Order of Eastern Star, Tirzah Chapter, Kansas City, Kansas. She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church at Swedeborg, Missouri. She is survived by her nephews & nieces, Floyd Smith & his wife, Susan of Overland Park, Kansas, Eddie Miller & his wife, Stephanie, William Miller & his wife, Tracy and Cris Ann Lekrone & her husband, Guy, all of Waynesville, Missouri; and one great-niece, Megan Volo & her husband, Michael of Gardner, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband and by a brother, William Floyd Smith. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Bishop officiating. Interment will be in Zena Cemetery under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove. Family and friends may send online condolences by viewing obituaries at www.honoringmemories.com.
