Andy Russell, age 65 of Big Cabin, passed away suddenly Wednesday, January 9, 2013. Andy was born in Healton, OK on March 27, 1947 to Willard and Geneva (Ponder) Russell. He joined the Marine Corp in 1965 serving in the Vietnam War. On February 14, 1970 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Durst and together they raised two daughters. Andy and Phyllis ran a gas station for 15 years and for the past 26 years he has been employed with American Airlines as an Aviation Maintenance Technician. Andy was a hard worker but also knew how to have fun. He was the jokester of the family. He was also a very giving man who loved the Lord. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pryor. Andy enjoyed gardening, cooking, working crossword and Sudoku puzzles, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Russell of the home, daughters: Wendi Hayes and husband Charlie of Big Cabin, and Carrie Russell of Big Cabin, grandchildren Megan and Mason Hayes, and siblings: Latha Parsons of Burkburnett, Texas, Joyce Dement and husband Delmer of Elgin, OK, Wilma Tindell of Spearmen, TX, Ray Russell and wife Ellen of Comanche, OK, Marie McCormick and husband Rick of Norman, OK, Jimmy Russell and wife Jennifer of Walters, OK, Clint Russell and wife Leigha of Marlow, OK, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel with Pastor Robert Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Timpson Chapel Cemetery.
