Anita Gail Marquis, 47 year old Vinita resident, died Tuesday September 18, 2007 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She was born June 10, 1960 in Muskogee to Kenneth Edward Bass and Juanita Deloris (Jones) Beck. Anita graduated from Vinita High School in 1978. She married Tony Marquis in Miami on May 8, 1983. Anita worked in food service at Eastern State Hospital for more than 20 years until her health forced her to take disability retirement. Anita was a member of the Emmanuel Temple west of Vinita, where she baby sit, helped with church dinners and party's, rode the church bus and helped with the church news letter. She loved to garden, raise flowers, crafts and shopping. Most of all she was a loving wife, daughter, and mother, who loved and cared for her family and loved God with her whole heart. The family includes; her husband Tony of the Home, two children, Michael Marquis of Vinita, Michelle Davis of Vinita (Estella), her parents Kenneth Bass of Vinita and Juanita Beck of Datil, New Mexico, two brothers, Keith Bass and Kevin Bass both of Vinita, a sister Angie Delcour of Vinita, two grandchildren, Kayden Marquis and Zaynia Davis, numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. The funeral service will be held, Friday September 20, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Temple west of Vinita, with Pastor Bruce Butler officiating. Interment will follow at the Timpson Chapel Cemetery northwest of Vinita. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
