ARNOLD MOORE & NEEKAMP FUNERAL HOME, BARTLESVILLE, OK - Mrs. Anna Jo Jamison, age 90 and resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016, in the Jane Phillips Medical Center. Anna "Jo" Byrd was born on August 25, 1926 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was the daughter of Charles Palmer Byrd and Josephine (McDougal) Byrd. She grew up in Alabama where she received her early education. She attended and graduated from the University of Alabama, receiving her BS in Business in 1948. On December 26, 1948, Jo and Henry Jamison were united in marriage in Birmingham, Alabama and they lived in Chicago, St. Louis, New York City, Boston and Philadelphia, before finally settling in Bartlesville in November of 1962. After Henry's retirement from Phillips Petroleum Company, they lived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for 12 years. The family moved back to Bartlesville in 1995. Jo was a member of the First United Methodist Church (now First Church), Bartlesville. She was primarily a homemaker. She also was a member of the American Association of University Women, Daughters of the Confederate Soldiers, and the UMW (United Methodist Women). She was a Girl Scout leader and band mom. She played bridge and traveled internationally (six of the seven continents). Jo was a gourmet cook and an excellent hostess. She was also an exceptional wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, Henry; and brothers, Charles T., James B., Palmer G. and Douglas E. Byrd. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Ellen Jamison of Bartlesville and Carol (Jamison) Egan and her husband, Brian, of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren, Lauren Egan of San Francisco, California and Erin Egan who is a student at the University of Southern California. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jo's memory may be given to the Caney Valley Elementary School, 400 W. Main, Ochelata, OK 74051; or to Camp Wah-Sha-She Girl Scout Camp, c/o Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma, 511 E. 11th St., Bartlesville, OK 74003. Memorial services for Mrs. Jamison will be held on Saturday, November 12, at 11:00 AM, in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Tari Carbaugh will be the officiant.
