Anna Miller

Anna Luella "Lue" Miller, 73-year-old Nowata resident, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville. Mrs. Miller was born July 23, 1936 in rural Nowata County to W.H. Parret and Delia Glena Sisco-Parret. She grew up and attended schools in the Armstrong community. On October 30, 1951 she married Herman T. "Chief" Miller. The two established their home together in the Nowata area where Mrs. Miller became an avid quilter. She was a member of Quilting Clubs in Bartlesville and in Drumright. Mrs. Miller also spent countless hours painting ceramics. She was a two time breast cancer survivor who also selflessly cared for her husband as his health failed. Mrs. Miller loved her family and treasured the time she was able to spend with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Miller is survived by four children, Herman T. Miller, III, Charles Miller and his wife Cindy, Tony Ray Miller, and Sharon Annette Laughlin and her husband Roger; by one sister, Mable Collier; by one brother, Walter Parret, Jr.; by 11 grandchildren; and by 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband; by a brother, Eddie Parret; by a sister, Dora May Heape; by a grandson, Curtly Miller; and by a great-granddaughter, McKenzy Pearl Miller. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Miller will be held at 2:00p.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at the Martin Cemetery with Ben Killion officiating. The family has requested that those wishing to make memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Miller remember the American Cancer Society.
