Annie Mason

Mrs. Annie L. Mason, age 93, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2012, in Grove, Oklahoma, where she had been a resident of the Grove Nursing Center. Annie had resided at her home in Ramona until she moved to the Grove Nursing Center several years ago. Annie Luetta Mason was born May 22, 1918, in Ramona, Oklahoma, the daughter of Elzie and Jennie (Baker) Atterberry. She received all of her formal schooling in the Ramona schools. Annie married George Kenneth Mason on May 22, 1936. To this union was born eight children. Annie was a member of the Ramona Friends Church where she served as church secretary and Bible class teacher for many years. She loved being involved with the Women's Missionary Society where she did quilting and other projects as needed. Annie loved serving her church family and friends. You could always find her serving for funeral dinners, church dinners, etc. Annie was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents; one son, Kenneth; a stepdaughter, Mary Doyal; three sisters, Doris May Ellis, Cynthia Jean Wiggins and Rose Marie Bacon; two brothers, John Wesley Atterberry and George Fay Atterberry. She is survived by four sons, William and his wife, Dora, of Morristown, Tennessee, Jerry Mason and his wife, Colleen, of Monkey Island, Oklahoma, Carl Mason and his wife, Doe, of Turley, Oklahoma, and Danny Mason and his wife, Nancy, of Tahlequah; three daughters, Patsy Ivers and her husband, Will, of Des Moines, Iowa, Peggy Reese and her husband, Andy, of Bedford, Texas, and Pamela Belzer and her husband, Steve, of Ponca City, Oklahoma; one brother, Oscar, of New Mexico; four sisters, Helen Gower, of Moses Lake, Washington, Alice Norton of Springfield, Missouri, Lola Kirby of Oklahoma City, and Ellen Creekmore of Catoosa, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. Family visitation for Mrs. Mason will be held on Sunday, January 15, from 2-4:00 p.m., in the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey, Bartlesville. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16, at 2:00 p.m. in the Friends Church, Ramona, Oklahoma. Pastor Eric Linville will be the officiant. Interment will follow in the Ramona Cemetery.
