Audrey Rae (Muncy) Boling, who would have been 99 on May 15, died Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Craig General Hospital in Vinita. She was born May 15, 1913 in Craig County to Edward Lee and Bessie (Rae) Muncy. Audrey began her education at Wayside School, she went there for the first grade, finished the rest of her grade school at Kelso. She attended Vinita High School and graduated in 1931. Audrey then attended Northeastern State University College in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, getting her degree in 1937. She taught in the winter and attended college in the summer time. She taught in the rural schools of Craig County, including Bluebell, Shannahan and Kelso for eight years. Audrey taught in the Vinita School System for 36 years. She helped start the 4H Club at Kelso. Audrey taught school for 44 years and enjoyed the fellowship of her students and parents. Audrey was married to Louis Dupree in May of 1941, he preceded her in death in September of 1943. She married Cecil Boling on December 24, 1949, they were together for 48 1/2 years. Cecil preceded her in death on May 23, 1998. Audrey belonged to Delta Kappa Gamma, Retired Teachers, Premier Worthwhile Club and was formerly on the board of Home of Hope. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vinita, where she worked with children in Sunday School and visiting the elderly after she retired. Audrey had a brother, Hugh Muncy and a sister Wilma Muncy Hammer, both who preceded her in death in 2007. The surviving family includes: a nephew, James Lee Hammer and wife Cindy of Wichita, also nieces and nephews of Cecil's side of the family: Robert Raley and Beverly of Muskogee, Jess Raley and Mary of Del Rio, Texas, Dennis Boling and Lisa of Warrensburg, Missouri, Doug Boling of Inola, Oklahoma, Diane Boling of Warrensburg, MO; brothers in-law, Don Boling, Doyle Boling and Andy Rollen; sisters in-law, Elizabeth Stevens, Evelyn Smith and husband Willie, Vivian Landers and husband David; cousins; Geneva Jackson, Bill and Margaret Minson, Robert and Betty Minson, Donald and Alma Minson, Louis and Helen Minson. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Vinita, with Rev. Henry "Skip" McClain officiating, assisted by Dr. Henry Haynes.
