Audrey Osawa Handle, 86 year old lifetime resident of Jay, Oklahoma, went to be with his Lord and Savior, while surrounded by his three granddaughters Shaunda, Andrea, Jennifer and grandson Jared, on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at his home. Audrey was born on August 8, 1930. He was the son of Landen and Birdie (Williams) Handle. Audrey proudly served in the United States Marines Corps as a Corporal during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Wanda Starr in January 1961 in Miami, OK. Audrey was a Great Dad and the Best Papa Ever. He was a member of the VFW for over 16 years, and was the past Commander of the American Legion of Jay, Post #195. Audrey was very "old school"; he still used his team of horses to plow his garden. And in the past, would hook them up to his wagon and cruise the back roads of Zena. Audrey could play one mean fiddle. He and his brother, Jack, won many contests. Audrey played his beloved fiddle in five countries, the USA, Mexico, Canada, Japan and Korea. Not only was Audrey famous for his fiddle playing, he was also known for making the best pot of beans and gumbo around. But most of all, Audrey loved spending time with his family and friends. Audrey was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wanda Handle, his son Alan Handle, his sister Mozella Randolph, a brother Jack Handle and an infant brother and sister. He leaves behind here on earth his five children; Bill Handle and his wife Eva of Eucha, Dal Handle of Jay, Debby Reece of Jay, Joy McMartin of Joplin and Carolyn Simons and her husband Marty of Gibraltar, MI, one brother Jimmie Handle of Grove, two sisters Merville Hill of Jay, and Lura Mae McAlester who lives in Missouri. Audrey was blessed with twelve grandchildren; Shaunda Davis and her husband Jared of Zena, Jennifer Davis of Eucha, Billy Handle Jr. and his wife Meagan of Grove, Misty Reece of Zena, Jana Reece of Zena, Bobby Reece of Zena, Audrey "Binger" Case of Eucha, Andrea Mercer and her husband Tony of Oaks, Ryan Handle and his wife Regina of Dennison, TX, Kasha Wiese and her husband Cale of Eucha, Brian Handle of Jay, and April Handle of Jay. Audrey also loved and cherished each and every one of his twenty-two great grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 pm, Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay. Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the Church of Christ in Grove, Oklahoma with Mr. Doug Rainbolt officiating.
