Audrey D. "Rabbit" Hare, 82, a longtime resident of Grove passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Integris Grove General Hospital. He was born on April 27, 1927 in Amarillo, Texas to Lamont and Ruby (Adams) Hare. Mr. Hare married Virginia Howell. Rabbit served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a Fighter Pilot in the Air Force and fought in World War II, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam. Rabbit was a member of the Quiet Bird Men and the American Legion. Rabbit was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Dr. Michael Perich. Survivors include his wife, Virginia; his children, Audrey "Bunnie" Perich of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Allan Hare of Owasso, Oklahoma, Rhonda Ruth Akers and her husband Fred of Fairland, Oklahoma, Valerie Epperson of Grove, Oklahoma; three brothers, Randle Hare of Peachtree, Georgia, Glenard Hare of Buffalo, Wyoming, and Kenneth Hare of Texas; grandchildren, Ashley Beeson, Emily Epperson, Gregorye Epperson, Aaron Hare, Andrew Hare, and Sarah Perich. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Grove, Oklahoma. In Lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to The Richard L. Vernon Aviation Memorial Scholarship. Rick Vernon learned to fly under the guidance from Rabbit and was from an Air Force Family. Two scholarships are given annually, one to a high school student and one at EAA's Oshkosh's Air Adventure annual in July
