Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, Oklahoma, 918-253-3222. Audrey Harp, age 89, a servant of God, was called to be with her Lord January 27, 2018. She was born to John and Mattie Davidson of Arno, Virginia on January 20, 1929. She was the oldest of four children and completed seven years of school at Arno in a two-teacher school. Audrey graduated salutatorian from Appalachia High School in 1947. She worked as an aide in the library and office and was a member of the Latin club, Future Homemakers, and 20th Century Beehive. Audrey was secretary of her senior class and a staff member of the school newspaper. She learned 100 Bible verses during her sophomore year in order to attend Bible Camp and was baptized during camp. In June, 1947, Audrey married Ramon Harp and enrolled in classes at Northeastern State College. By August, 1949 they had secured teaching certificates and began teaching careers at Beaver School near Siloam Springs, AR. John Charles was born while they lived near Beaver and Ted and Randy were born after they had accepted positions at Jay. Before returning to teach at Jay, Audrey taught a year at Delaware School between Jay and Grove. Summer and night classes allowed Audrey to finish her Bachelor of Science degree and her Master of Teaching Degree at Northeastern State College. She taught first grade nine years at Jay before teaching fourth grade the remainder of her 30-year teaching career. In 1979, Audrey was named Delaware County Teacher of the Year. Since retiring Audrey was active with Delaware County Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Southside Church of Christ in Jay since 1966, teaching Sunday school classes, working in the supply room, and attending Ladies Bible Class every Tuesday morning as long as she was able to do so. Her Ladies Bible Class was a source of friendship, Bible study, and service-oriented work. Audrey was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband Ramon, her parents John and Mattie Davidson, and brothers Emry and Paul Davidson. She is survived by her sons John Charles and his wife Necia, Ted and his wife Janice, and Randy and his wife Dana. Audrey's grandchildren are Rae Lynn and her husband Heath, Jessica and her husband Chase, Traci and her husband Ryan, Clint and his wife Kelsey, Logan, Jamalin, and Darin and his wife Mackenzie. Her great-grandchildren are Kobe, Hannah, Luke, Kamryn, Kendall, Zach, Jack, Audrey Grace, and David. Audrey is also survived by her brother Raymond Davidson of Arno, Virginia, along with numerous family members and friends. Visitation will be 6-8PM Friday Feb. 2 at Jay Worley-Luginbuel. Services are at Jay Southside Church of Christ 1P.M. Saturday February 3, 2018. Audrey will be laid to rest in the Duffield Cemetery.
