Avenell Jones

Avenell (Bryant) Jones, 81 year-old Bernice resident, died late Sunday, May 6, 2007 at the Grove Integris Hospital. She was born May 20, 1925 in Cleora to Thomas V. and Locky Mae (Young) Trimble. Avenell graduated from Cleora High School. She married Carl Bryant on May 13, 1942; he preceded her in death in 1993. Avenell later married Elmer E. "Gene" Jones on September 10, 1994. Avenell worked for Munsingwear for a time and was an ordained minister. She was a member of the Wayside Bible Church of Bernice, and enjoyed quilting. The family includes: her husband Gene of the home, her three sons, Bill Bryant and wife Ginger, Ronnie Bryant and wife Paula, all of Vinita, Bob Bryant and wife Helen of Kaufman, Texas; step-children Charla Weeks of Gentry, Arkansas, Earl Jones of Siloam Spring Arkansas, and Eddie Jones of West Siloam Springs, Arkansas; her brothers, Hugh Trimble and wife Ruth of Cleora and Marion Trimble of Owasso, one sister Katy Weaver of Cleora; Ten grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren. Others preceding her in death include her parents, a son Tommy Bryant in 1943, brother and sisters, Patty Trimble, Sue Hartline, Alta Crow, Bertha Stuck, and Gene Trimble. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday May 9, 2007 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Thursday May 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Luginbuel Chapel, with Pastors Allen Byrd and Justin Turner officiating. Interment will follow at the McLaughlin Cemetery at Cleora. Casket bearers will be; Tracy, Bobby, Shane, Travis, Billy Bryant and Nathan Peetoom. Honorary bearers will be; Jarrod and Lance Weeks, Eric, Ryan, and Kelby Jones. Friends may give to the Gideon's in Memory of Avenell. Online tributes can be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
