Barbara Avonne Dye, 37, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 of injuries resulting from an automobile accident north of Nowata on Hwy 169. She was born July 14, 1980 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Barbara went to school in Nowata up until her senior year and finished her last year of school at North Hopkins High School in Madisonville, Kentucky in 1999 and returned to the Nowata area where she has lived since. Barbara was married to Kenneth Harmon and they had two children, Marque, and Makayla. They later divorced and she was blessed with two other children, Brayden Stewart, and Saryn Peterson. She enjoyed taking her children to museums, and was a bead jewelry maker. Barbara was also known as the "snake lady" as she enjoyed her pet snakes. Above all she loved her family and children. She had a special place in her heart for her family, and she showed it by the love and care she gave her children. Barbara will truly be missed by her family and friends. Preceding Barbara in death are her mother Annetta Sue (Sisson) Dye, a sister, Betina Tate, and a daughter, Sarin Peterson. Surviving Barbara are her father Brian Allen Dye and his wife Maudie, of Nowata; her biological father, Rex Dye Jr. and wife Monica, of Kentucky, biological mother, Deborah Fox; children, Marque Harmon, Makayla Harmon, and Brayden Stewart, all of Nowata; a brother, Brian Allen Dye Jr., of Nowata; a biological half-brother, Trevan Rex Dye; sister, Brenda Owens and husband Dennis, of Nowata; many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. Graveside funeral services for Barbara will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 27, 2017, at Ball Cemetery with Pastor Wendell Abbott officiating.
