Benjamin Funeral Service - Nowata, Oklahoma -- 918-273-2700 Barbara Diane McKinney, 66, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017. She was born September 15, 1950 in Fullerton, California to Clifford and Lorraine (Johnson) Gailey. She graduated from Norte Vista High School in California and later continued her education, earning a Bachelor's degree at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Diane married John McKinney on May 24, 1997. She worked as an accountant and was a member of The First Baptist Church of Sperry. Diane enjoyed flower gardening and walking her dog, Lacy, in the park. She and John enjoyed taking trips on the Harley to National and State Parks. Diane also enjoyed shopping and going to movies. She was a very positive, hardworking woman with a good sense of humor and a very giving heart. Diane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved spending time with her granddaughters, especially going to watch their volleyball and basketball games. She held a special place in her heart for all of her family and will be missed by all who knew her. Diane is survived by two children, Cheri Koscielny and husband Kevin of Skiatook, Oklahoma, and John McKinney and wife Sadie of Delaware, OK; siblings, Gloria Wall and husband Jim of Owasso, Janice Dawson and husband Rick of Tulsa, Marilyn Holtman and husband George of Godfrey, Illinois, Steven Gailey and wife Debbie of Ochelata, Deborah McMains of Nowata, Dwayne Ridenhour and wife Gloria of Delaware, Dale Ridenhour and wife Rhonda of Nowata, Greg Ridenhour and wife Kathy of Delaware; four grandchildren, Lauren McKinney, Maddy McKinney, Sara McKinney, and Gracie Koscielny; many other relatives and a host of wonderful friends; and her beloved dog, Lacy. Diane is preceded in death by her father, Clifford Gailey and her mom and step dad Harvey and Lorraine Ridenhour; siblings, Doris McKinney, Norma Lafremier, and Darwin Ridenhour. A memorial service for Mrs. McKinney will be held Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Delaware, OK. Arrangements have been entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service.
