Barbara Ann Moore, 88, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Jane Phillips Nowata Health Center in Nowata. She was born January 27, 1928 in Kaiser, West Virginia to Robert and Anna Rice. Barbara married James W. Maxwell and after he had passed away she married George Moore. She was a registered nurse and worked for Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Jane Phillips Nowata Health Center, and for Dr. Jeff Gibson. Barbara was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Nowata. She enjoyed quilting and made a quilt for each of her grandchildren. Barbara also enjoyed bowling and bowled until she was 80 years old. She also enjoyed dancing gardening, cooking, volunteering at the Sr. Citizens center, and was a past member of the Eastern Star. Barbara was a very open and supportive lady. She held a special place in her heart for all of her family and will be missed by all who knew her. Barbara is survived by four children, Michael Edward Maxwell and his wife Dixie Lee, Wayne Harlan Maxwell and his wife Sharon Ann, David Allen Maxwell and his wife Lynette, James Wesley Maxwell, Jr. and his wife Pamela Sue, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, James W. Maxwell and George Moore, and nine brothers and sisters.
