Bern William Hague, 91, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, died early Saturday morning, January 11, 2014 at Jane Phillips Medical Center. Mr. Hague was born August 2, 1922 at Harris, Missouri to John William Hague and Eunice Woneva (Mason) Hague. Bern moved from Missouri to Des Moines, Iowa as a child. His father managed a lumber yard, where Bern had his first job. He graduated from Lincoln High School and was drafted into the U.S. Army. Bern served in the South Pacific Theater during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he utilized his VA loan and attained an Associates Degree from AIB College of Business. Shortly thereafter, Bern went to work for Phillips Petroleum Company in Des Moines and met his future wife. He and Agnes Elizabeth Pierick were married October 29, 1949 in Des Moines. The couple added five children to their union and in 1961, Bern was transferred to Memphis, Tennessee. After 10 years in Memphis, the Hague family came to Bartlesville. After 37 years, he retired from Pricing & Marketing Department and dedicated his time to taking care of his cattle. Bern was a member of St. John Catholic Church and as a young man had helped build the church in Churchville, Iowa. He was a former Mason, Knights of Columbus member and Eucharistic minister. Bern and Agnes loved to square dance, jitterbug and play cards, especially bridge. He will be remembered as a fine family man who loved people and loved to laugh. Survivors are his wife, Agnes of the home; five children, Rebecca Elizabeth Hague of Perry, Oklahoma, Stephen William Hague of Springfield, Missouri, Bernadette Hague and her husband, Ken Burns of Rock Springs, Wyoming, John Hague and his wife, Linda of Bahrain and David Hague of Denver, Colorado; one brother, Harold Hague and his wife, Vicky of Topeka, Kansas; six grandchildren, Joseph Hague, Jessica Barkman, Chase Hague, Rebecca Hague, Terry Reeve and Jeremy Reeve and one great-granddaughter, Tabitha Reeve.
