Berniece Mclain

Berniece McLain 84 year-old rural Bluejacket resident, died Monday September 4, 2006 at her home. She was born August 30, 1922 in Vanoss, Oklahoma to Egbert Arnold Cannaday and Maude Elizabeth (Baker) Cannaday. She was married to Ewell "Jack" McLain, he preceded her in death. Berniece was over a 40 year member of the Bluejacket First Baptist Church. Berniece enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, flowers, reading the history of the old west and was the family cook. Preceding her in death were, her husband, her parents, brothers, Jr., Jack and Earl Cannaday, a sister Gracie Borgardts, three great-grandchildren, Layton True and Lakin Marie McLain and Cash Robert McLain-Lucas. The family includes her children; Yetta Dunlap and husband Jerry of Clovis, N.M., Keith McLain and wife Paula of Bluejacket, Robbie Henry and husband Randy of Bluejacket, Neal McLain and wife Alice of Throckmorton, Texas, Justin McLain and wife Jammie of Bluejacket, and Pattie Bluejacket and husband Morris of Bluejacket; two sisters, Flora Lee "Good" Howard, and Evelyn Joe "Tiney" Shahan, both of Marlow; sixteen grandchildren and twenty eight great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Friday September 8, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Bluejacket, with Pastor Robert Colston officiating. Interment will follow at the Bluejacket Cemetery. Casket bearers will be grandsons; Marlin Lee, Mike Lee, Randy Lee, Eric Lucas, Gregg McLain, Keith McLain, Jr., Rodney Mclain, Tab Bluejacket, Cooper McLain and Carson McLain.
