Bert Frikken, 91 year old, Grove, Oklahoma resident passed away, Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Bert was born in Little Rock, Iowa, on June 26, 1920 to John and May (Rubel) Frikken. He worked for the Civil Conservation Corps during World War II. Bert worked most of his life as an aircraft engineer, working on metal bonding He started with Beechcraft and finally retired from Rockwall. In his spare time Bert loved to work construction building and remodeling many houses, including his current home. Bert married Evelyn (Nicolet) on June 15, 1942, in Yuma, Arizona. Eventually they moved to the Grove area in 1980. Bert was preceded in death by brothers, William John Frikken, John William Frikken and Edward Fred Frikken, and a sister, Elizabeth May Morrison. Bert is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of the home, two sons, Robert Frikken and wife Barbara, of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and Donald Frikken and wife Sharon, of Gerold, Missouri, two brothers, James Frikken and wife Lois of Eldorado Springs, Missouri, and Dick Frikken and wife Beatrice of Ridgefield, Washington, and a sister, May Elizabeth Bartleson and husband Dwayne, of Dent, Minnesota. Bert is also survived by ten grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren. Funeral services for Bert will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday October 4, 2011 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Mulvane Cemetery in Mulvane, Kansas. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday October 3, 2011 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.
