Bertha Dukes, 79, a resident of Wyandotte, Oklahoma passed away at Freeman East Hospital in Joplin, Missouri on Monday, April 28, 2009. She was born on November 11, 1929 in Newcastle England to Mary Marshall. Bertha was a member of the British Military in the British Women's Air Corp. She worked as a General's Driver. She came from England in 1958 to the United States. Her and her daughter became naturalized citizens of the USA in 1963. Mrs. Dukes is a member of the First Baptist Church in Wyandotte, she loved to play bingo, but, most of all was so proud of her kids and grandkids. Her husband Jimmie B Dukes precedes her in death. Her family is her daughter Lindsay Dunn, a son James Dukes along with six grandchildren; Michael, Matthew, Corbin, Jerrod, Alexis, Jace and two great grandchildren Katrina and Haley. Funeral services for Mrs. Dukes will be 10:00 AM on Friday, May 1, 2009 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove with Pastor C G Gillmore officiating. Interment will follow in the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City, Missouri. Casketbearers will be Jason Butterfield, Wayne Butterfield, Adam Butterfield, Shane Powell and Randy Parmley. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.
