Bertie Lee May (87) long time Nowata resident passed away Friday, January 18, 2013, at Jane Phillips Nowata Health Center. She was born August 20, 1925, in Pleasant Hill, Oklahoma to Charles M. and Nellie (Holloway) Wilson. Mrs. May enjoyed gardening, watching birds, and was a very active person. She loved people and had many friends. Bertie worked as a cook for the Nowata Hospital for many years. She loved to cook and care for others. Bertie is survived by her friend, Danny Royer, and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She will be missed by many.
