Luginbuel Funeral Home- Vinita - 918-256-5555...... Betty Jean Abbott, 70 year old Afton resident passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Betty was born in Pryor on February 9, 1947 to Adolphus and Ruby (Thompson) Owen. On December 8, 1966 she was united in marriage to Donald Abbott and together raised three children. Betty was a very crafty person. She enjoyed cake decorating, wood working, and needlework. She was always active in her children and grandchildren's activities and even served as a Girl Scout Leader. Betty also ran several small businesses. She enjoyed watching game shows and loved getting together with her family especially at holidays. Survivors include her children: Brenda Mayfield and husband Mike of Welch, Sandra Reynolds and husband Rodney of Afton, and Bryan Abbott and wife Melanie of Afton, grandchildren: Austin Hanes, Jaylee Hanes, Avery Abbott, Aiden Abbott, and Rory Reynolds, siblings: Wilma King of Tulsa, Sharrie McDougal and husband Jim of Broken Arrow, Carol Hunt and husband Jimmy of Bristow, and Vicky Denny and husband Steve of Afton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Abbott, brothers Albert Owen and Roy Owen, and sisters Louise Stipes and June Martin. Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2017 at Fairview Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
