Betty Arning

Betty Jane Arning was born June 22, 1916 in Fairview, Kansas, to George E. and Birdie (Pruitt) Hicks. She passed from this life in Arkansas City, Kansas after reaching 91 years, 8 months, and 2 days. At age 3 her mother died and she was adopted by Joseph and Elsie Noyes, of Coffeyville, Kansas. She attended and graduated from schools in and around Coffeyville. On December 24 1935 she married Nelson Young and they were married for 21 years. On June 26, 1971 she married Floyd Arning, in Bartlesville and they made their home in Bartlesville until his death on February 21, 1999. When her health declined she moved to Arkansas City where her niece, guardian, and caregiver Betty Freels took care of her until her death last year. Mrs. Arning continued to be cared for by her great niece Dana Hoffer. Betty had many family and friends that will miss her very much.
