Betty Jo McKee Briggs, 82, of Nowata, died Monday, November 12, 2012, at Jane Phillips Nowata Health Center. She was born June 2, 1930 to James and Ethel (Tatum) Inman in Chelsea. Betty was educated in Alluwe schools and later received her Nursing Home Administrators Certificate from the State of Oklahoma. Betty was the administrator for Osage Nursing Home for many years as well as the activities director for the Hayes House for several years. She lived in the Nowata area all her life and during that time was married three times. She married Claude Wickliffe, Delbert McKee, and Emory Briggs Jr. who recently passed away in July of this year. She was a member of Hillside Christian Church and her favorite holiday is Christmas. She loved that time of year with all the decorations, music, and time with family and friends. She loved people and being with those she loved. Betty enjoyed reading and flower gardening. She was a loving caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her. Preceding Mrs. Briggs in death are her parents, James and Ethel Inman; her husbands, Claude Wickliffe, Delbert McKee, and Emory Briggs; daughter, Nina White; siblings, Carl Inman, Alva Inman, Jewell Bates, and Veda Robinson and a grandson, Claude Wayne Parris. Surviving Mrs. Briggs, are her children, Sherry Parris and husband Don, of Nowata, Gaynell Barnes and husband Bill, of Nowata, Wick Wickliffe, of Delaware, Oklahoma, Ann Morrison and husband Mike, of Chelsea, Oklahoma, Monty Wickliffe and wife Debbie, of Nowata, Lois Klein and husband Mick, of Grand Island, Nebraska, Susan Dugan and husband Randy, of Dogwood, Missouri; a son-in-law Allen White and wife Kari, of Owasso, Oklahoma; twenty six grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, many other relatives and a host of friends. Services for Mrs. Briggs will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Hillside Christian Church, Nowata, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery.
