Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma. 918-786-2261.Betty Lou Brixey, 87-year-old resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 3, 2018. Betty was born on September 10, 1930 in Okemah, Oklahoma. She was the last of the daughters born to Fred V. and Mary Rachael (Spencer) Wallace. She was united in marriage to Homer Lee Brixey on August 30, 1952. H Lee and Betty raised their five beautiful daughters on H Street in Miami, Oklahoma before H Lee passed away in 1975. Betty worked as an Emergency Room Clerk for the Miami Baptist Hospital before she relocated to Oklahoma City. She then worked as a supervisor for the Department of Human services in the Child Support Division. Betty then worked at the University Village as the Mail Clerk until the time that her health would not allow. Betty raised five strong women, wrangled and entertained grandchildren and loved her great grandbabies with all her heart. She was the rock and foundation of the Brixey family. Betty was a devout Christian and was baptized by faith into the Zena Baptist Church. Betty was a former member and active volunteer with Northwest Baptist in Miami, Oklahoma, Putnam City Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, and Skelly Drive Baptist in Tulsa, Oklahoma. One of Betty's prize possessions was a blue coat that H Lee had bought for her, and she is wearing it home. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters: Virgie Page, Fay Smith and Joy Wallace. She is survived by her five daughters: LeAnn Huxall and her husband Garrett of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Gayle Pitman and her husband Mike of Branson, Missouri, Margaret Swango and her husband Scott of Springfield, Missouri, Patti Garrett and her husband Mark of Prue, Oklahoma and Debbie Gillenwater and her husband John of Bixby, Oklahoma. Betty was blessed with eleven grandchildren: Galen Huxall (Sarah), Lynnah Hall (Derrick), Lee Pitman (Rachel), Robbie Pitman (Kamber), Mickey Pitman (Mackenzi), Holly Pitman, Sara Swango, Seth Swango, Rachel Martin (Sam), Marie Quinten (Austin), Alexis Garrett, and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Juanita Brixey and brother-n-law, Wayne Smith. Betty will be dearly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends. Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, April 9, 2018 at Zena Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Thomas officiating. Betty will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Zena Cemetery.
