Betty Lou Christian, 80 year-old Vinita (Centralia) resident, died late Sunday, March 30, 2008 at the Craig General Hospital in Vinita. She was born November 11, 1927 in Wheeler, Texas to Glenn and Augusta (Martindale) Bean. After graduating from Centralia High School she married Lowell Christian on January 10, 1948 in Centralia, he preceded her in death on September 30, 2005. She was a member of the Baptist Faith. Betty loved her dogs especially Tinker Bell her Chihuahua, driving around, spending time with her family, reading, and cooking for the local cowboys. The family includes; one son, Rodney Christian and wife Lucille of Afton, a grandson, Brian Christian of Centralia, step-grandchildren, Gene Gregory and wife Glenda of Afton, Heidi Knott and husband Alan of Claremore, Samantha Gregory of Fayetteville, Arkansas, step-great-grandchildren, Logan Kirk and Jordan Knott, a sister in-law, Jan Christian of San Antonio, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death include her parents, husband, a daughter in-law Viki Christian in 1994 and a brother Lyman Bean. The family will receive friends at the Luginbuel Funeral Home from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday evening. The graveside service will be held Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Martin Cemetery, with Rev. Leland Bartlett officiating. Casket bearers will be; Sonny Raulston, Marvin Christian, Shawn Christian, Bob Holland, Roger Morris and Frank Robison. Honorary bearers will be Jason Jones, Noel Christian, Billy Moore, Shane Sunday and Fred Falling. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
