Betty Jean Standeford passed away Friday, September 5, 2014 at Jane Phillips Nowata Health Center. She was born November 28, 1929 in Nowata to Vernal and Lillie (Bodle) Barnes. She was a 1947 graduate of Nowata High School and married Kenneth Alva Standeford on May 31, 1947 in Sedan, Kansas. They were married 57 years before his death in 2004. Betty was a member of Hillside Christian Church where she enjoyed playing the piano, teaching preschool, and other church activities. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends at TOPS, a club that focused on healthy living. Betty was an avid bible reader and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She loved traveling, especially her trips to Branson. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. Betty is survived by two children, Kenneth (Butch) Standeford and his wife Terrie of Nowata, Judi and her husband Gary Kulchinski of Nowata; four grandchildren, Lisa and her husband Todd Cummings, Teri and her husband Eric Dreyer, Levi Standeford and his wife Treasure, J.J. and her husband Brad Perkins; nine great - grandchildren, Christian Cummings, Allie Dreyer, Michelle Dickinson Standeford, Jadyn Standeford, Jyntri Standeford, Codie Perkins, Dylan Perkins, Caleb Perkins, Katelynn Perkins; a nephew, Jim Buster and his wife Sharon of Ponca City. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth Standeford; a sister, Violet Morrison.
