Betty "MiMi" Jean Vaughn Betty Jean Vaughn, 75, of Nowata, was born August 17, 1936 in Alluwe, Oklahoma to Fern H. and Gracie Burdell (McNabb) Clasby. She passed from this life Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Jane Phillips Nowata Health Center. Betty attended and graduated from Alluwe Schools and on December 24, 1954 she married Walter "Pete" Vaughn in Alluwe. She worked at several places around but is best remembered at Gilberts Shoes, in Nowata, as well as driving kindergarten children for the Alluwe schools and cooking at the Chelsea Senior Citizens Center. She was always doing what she could to help others. Betty also enjoyed tending to her flowers as well as taking care of her family. "MiMi", as her grandchildren knew her, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by many. Preceding Mrs. Vaughn in death are her parents, Fern H. and Gracie Clasby, her husband Pete, and two brothers Jimmy and Buck Clasby. Survivors include her daughter Kim Parrett, of Nowata, a son Brad Vaughn, and his wife Paula, of Kellyville, Oklahoma, grandchildren Jennie Vukic, Baily Kile and wife Candi, Nathan Rainey, Shiloh Freeman and husband Nathan, Justin Rainey and wife Ashley, Adam Vaughn, Melissa Vaughn, Cord Parrett, Matthew Vaughn, Sierra Parrett, great grandchildren, Bryan Kile, Ried Kile, Kaed Freeman, Abigail Rainey, Cooper Kile, Deakon Freeman, Kingston Freeman, and Reagan Schoenholz,two sisters Edna Pool, of Bartlesville, and Clara Ward, of Spring, Texas, long time companion, Glen Garrison, and many other nieces nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
