During their working years, Betty and Burle lived in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Pennsylvania and Nebraska. In 1980, they returned to Bartlesville to retire. Burle preceded her in death in 1992 and their daughter Mary Jo Wobker also died that year. Betty then moved to Redmond, Washington, to live near her son David and his family for over a decade. Betty enjoyed bridge, travel, knitting, gardening, ceramics, and crossword puzzles. She was noted for a lively wit.
