Benjamin Funeral Service - Nowata, Oklahoma Billie Dewayne McCaslin passed away Friday, December 26, 2014 in Nowata. Billie was born Christmas Day in 1940 to W.C. "Cash" McCaslin and Faye Lenora (Attebury) McCaslin. He grew up in the Mesa/Chandler area and at age 11, his family moved to Cushing, Oklahoma. Billie graduated from Cushing High School and began attending Oklahoma State University. While at OSU, Billie enlisted in the US Air Force and served four years in Las Vegas, Nevada. After his honorable discharge, Billie worked for IBM at Tucson, Arizona. He later left IBM and worked for Raytheon as an electrical engineer for 17 years, before retiring in 2008. Billie first married to Mary Ann Hopkins in 1963 and had two sons. The couple later divorced and he married Stella Ownensby at Tucson on October 5, 1987. Billie's education included OSU, UNLV and University of Colorado. He was of the Assembly of God faith and had attended Grace Chapel Pentecostal Church while living in Tucson. Billie was a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of Tucson Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and reloading ammunition and riding motorcycles. Billie loved to "tinker" with things and had built several radio controlled model airplanes. Billie is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, Gary McCaslin and his wife Maureen McGinnis-McCaslin of Crestwood, Illinois, John McCaslin and his wife Leann McConville-McCasin; a sister, Janet Carnagey and her husband Jim of May, OK; two grandchildren, Ann Nowcin, Judie McCaslin; one great-grandchild, Kylie Nowcin. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, W.C. "Sonny" McCaslin, Jr., and Donald "Don" McCaslin. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
