Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma 918-786-2261. Colonel Billy J. "Bill" Brown, 82, has taken his final flight - the one that was the highlight of his life. He earned his silver wings on June 1, 2016. Bill was caught by God's own hands to be with him on high. Bill was born on August 15, 1933 in Munday, Texas. He was the son of Samuel "Elmer" and Sarah "Kate" (Peek) Brown. Bill served his country honorably in the United States Air Force; He retired from the military, after serving over 26 years. For the rest of Bill's life, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing golf with all of his buddies, watching planes and telling "war-stories". Bill earned his bachelors degree from Texas Tech. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and wife LaClaire Brown. He is survived by his wife Judith Brown, his four children; Lex Brown and wife Sabrina, Shelley Green and her husband Douglas, Allison Corson and her husband James, Shannon Brown, and, three step children, Jennei Hudson, John Hudson and Shawn Hudson. Bill was blessed with six grandchildren, six step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2-4 PM Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 6, 2016 at Faith Church in Grove with Pastor Kim Wenzel officiating. Bill will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
