Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, Oklahoma 918-253-3222. William "Billy" Bird Guess, 65 year old resident of Kansas, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Billy was born on March 27, 1952 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was the son of Walker Cochran and Florence Moccasin. Billy graduated from Kansas High School in 1970; he also attended Okmulgee Tech and earned his Bachelors degree from NSU. Billy worked for the rail road industry as a welder. Billy enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing fast pitch softball and horseshoes. He liked cooking hog meat and making his own fishing jigs. Little to anyone's knowledge, Billy earned his brown belt in Karate. Billy was preceded in death by his mother, one brother George Guess and two sisters Debbie Guess and Sharon Cochran. He leaves behind his father Walker Cochran and step mother Edna Cochran; three brothers Sequoyah Guess and his wife Gina of Kansas, OK, Walker Cochran Jr., and his wife Brenda, of Bull Hollow, Neal Cochran of Bull Hollow, three sisters Eva Foreman and her husband Tarz of Bull Hollow, Karen Cochran and friend Rick Kirk of Kenwood and Lisa Budder and husband Parcy of Colcord, step sisters Gladys King of Eucha and Margo Arnold of Flint Creek. He will be dearly missed by a host of nieces and nephews and a numerous friends. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 pm, Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma. Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the Kansas High School Gymnasium with Pastor Jess Glass officiating. Honoring Billy's life serving as casket bearers will be Isiah Cochran, Emmitt Cochran, Jeramy Cochran, Justin Sharp, Marcus Foreman and Rodney Lyman. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Jim Cochran, Sequoyah Guess, Bob Cochran, Jodi Hansen Sammy Still and Larry Lyman. Billy will be laid to rest in the Cochran Cemetery in Kansas, Oklahoma.
