William "Billy" Ray Johnson, 73-year-old Copan resident, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2008 in Copan. Funeral services for Mr. Johnson will be held at 2:00p.m., Friday, August 15, 2008 in the Colonial Chapel of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Bartlesville with Martin "Bud" Witt officiating. Interment will follow in the Ethel Reese Cemetery in Barnsdall. The family has asked those who choose to send memorial contributions remember the Animal Rescue Foundation. On-Line condolences for the family can be left at www.honoringmemories.com. Billy Ray Johnson was born May 17, 1935 in Atoka, Oklahoma to Henry Madison Johnson and Victoria Hendricks-Johnson. He married Naomi Ann Smith on March 22, 1957 in Barnsdall. Mr. Johnson worked for Williams Natural Gas for twenty-five years on the pipeline crew and most recently as a compressor station operator until his retirement. He loved hunting and fishing and just about anything he could do outdoors. He was a busy man who loved to tinker around and look for Indian Artifacts. He had amassed a collection that he was quite proud of. He was also quite proud of his three cats and his grand-dog, "Bella". Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife Naomi Johnson of the home; by three children, Floyd and his wife Penney Johnson of Barnsdall, Billy Joe Johnson of Wann, and Gail Johnson of Copan; by three brothers, Orville Dean Johnson of Dewey, Henry M. Johnson, Jr. of Copan, and Freddy James Johnson of Dewey; by four sisters, Lois Notley of Dewey, Joyce Reames of Oklahoma City, Henrietta Beal of Bartlesville, and Wanda Larmore of Ramona; by three grandchildren, Julia and her husband Neal Price of Houston, Nathan Johnson of Barnsdall, and Lilette Johnson of Barnsdall. He was preceded in death by two granddaughters Angela and Audrey.
