Billy Kirby

Luginbuel Funeral Home Vinita, 918-256-5555........Billy Joe Kirby passed away February 24, 2017 at his home in Spavinaw.He was born on October 15, 1935 the son of Everett Pickett Kirby and Hazel Pearl (Hughes) Kirby. Billy was raised in Mayes County attended school and later joined the US Army. After serving his country he returned home and married Freda Sue Robertson on July 2, 1965. They raised three daughters together in the Spavinaw area and lived their entire lives in Mayes County. Billy and Freda spent 50 wonderful years together. During his working years he was a paint supervisor in the steel industry. He was an avid baseball fan of the Texas Rangers. Billy enjoyed gardening, woodworking, mowing and landscaping. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Freda Sue Robertson Kirby in 2015. Billy is survived by three daughters; Sheila Kirby of Spavinaw, Cheryl Vega and husband Rod of Broken Arrow, Ok., April Ann Turner and husband Greg of Spavinaw, Ok. He was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. 5 brothers, Gene, Don, Jimmy, Randy Kirby all of Disney and Dude Kirby of Indianapolis, In. four sisters, Wanda Page of Houston Tx., Ann Poindexter of Grove, Mary Sue Stewart of Jay and Donnie Caywood of Disney Ok. A private memorial service to celebrate the life of Billy Joe Kirby will be held on February 27, 2017, 11:00 am at the family home of Joe and Freda Kirby, Spavinaw Ok. A second private service to recieve his ashes will be held on Wednesday March 1, 2017, 2:00 pm at the family home of Joe and Freda Kirby, Spavinaw, Ok.
