Billy Minson

Billy F. "Bill" Minson, 86, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown. Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown. The family will receive friends from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday January 15, 2013 at the Luginbuel Chapel in Vinita. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Luginbuel Chapel in Vinita, OK. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. Billy was born on November 22, 1926, at Vinita, OK, to John William and Nellie Frances (Muncy) Minson. He graduated from Bluejacket High School near Vinita. Following graduation, he worked at the Grand River Dam in Langley, OK. On March 28, 1946, Billy married Margaret Brixey at Columbus, KS. Billy continued working at the dam and later worked with the Bureau of Reclamation in a couple of different locations. The couple moved to Watertown in 1955 where Billy was employed at WAPA (Western Area Power Administration) for 30 years. He enjoyed working on his farm near Hayti, SD, and continued to farm after his retirement until 10 years ago. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Elks and Lions Club. He also enjoyed farming, gardening, fishing and hunting. Billy is survived by his wife, Margaret, of Watertown, SD; three daughters: Sandi (Jim) Robbins of Florence, SD, Dianna (Gene) Kingslien of Manhattan, KS, and Kathy (Rick) Lamoreaux of Branson, MO; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Don (Alma) Minson of Pensacola, OK, Louis (Helen) Minson of Vinita, OK, and Bob (Betty) Minson of Miami, OK; and one sister, Geneva Jackson, of Pensacola, OK. He was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and his parents. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
