Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma 918-786-2261.Billy Roe Nuckolls, age 86, passed away on July 25, 2017 at the family home place at Grove Port Resort in Grove, Oklahoma. Bill's life began on June 28, 1931 in Grove, Oklahoma. He was the son of Ray Nuckolls and Goldie (Frazier) Roberts. He spent his childhood living on the Roberts farm with his mother and stepfather Clarence Roberts. His maternal grandparents built the first marina on Grand Lake in 1940 at Grove Port. Billy's grandparents were James Monroe Frazier and Bertha Beatrice Caudill. His great grandparents were original Indian pioneers. His great grandfather; Josiah Anderson Frazier; a Baptist minister, was the founder of Grove's First Baptist with his great grandmother Keturah Elisabeth Staley. Billy proudly served in the United States Army and Marines. He was united in marriage to Catherine L. Pipkin in Rockford, Illinois in 1955. He was a very talented cabinet maker. He loved Elk hunting and camping. Bill and Cathy would travel a lot with their children in the younger years. He enjoyed snowmobile racing and watching football and wrestling. Bill has been the owner of Tom Cat Corner for the last forty years. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Cathy and grandson James "Matthew" Turner. Bill leaves behind to miss him dearly; his son Keith Nuckolls of Grove, Oklahoma; four daughters; Cathy Turner of King George Virginia, Cindy Nuckolls of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Judy Cartwright of Grove, Oklahoma and Nina Moman and her husband Reece of Grove, Oklahoma, three brothers Ross Roberts (Marsha), Darrell Roberts (Laura) and Kelly "Hoss" Nuckolls all of Grove, Oklahoma. Bill was blessed with 10 grandchildren; Erin Scalph (Paul), Jamey Jackson (Bernard) and Lisa Clem, Jennifer, Brian and Kelli Proctor, Jason, Tyler (Destiny) and Kayla (Steven) Moman, 10 great grandchildren; Alexis, Jayden, Kinsley and Caden, Julia, Brenee', Haylie and Rylie, Tanner and James. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, Sunday, July 30, 2017, Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, July 31, 2017 both at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, Oklahoma.
