Bob Thompson

Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita, (918) 256 - 5555 - Bob Thompson, 87 year old longtime Vinita resident passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2015. Bob was born in Beggs, Oklahoma on May 24, 1928 to his parents Roy T. and Nora Belle (Nimmo) Thompson. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Vinita and worked for the City of Vinita Police Department for many years and was the Police Chief and later worked in security at Grand Lake. Bob married Anna Rachel (Hunt) Thompson and they were married over 21 years before her death in 2013. Bob enjoyed watching TV, hunting and traveling, and he will be missed very much. Preceded in death by his parents; his wife Anna; two sisters; Becky and Wilma; Bob is survived by one son, Robert Thompson, Jr. of Vinita; one daughter, Eursula Weatherford of Vinita; one granddaughter, Paige Weatherford of Vinita; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. The Bob Thompson family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, June 19, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Vinita with Reverend Sonja Tobey officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita.
