Bobby G. Wiles, age 70, former mayor of Vinita died Saturday February 4, in Tulsa. He was born June 13, 1941 in Ottawa County, OK to Ben F. Wiles and Rosa Stegall Wiles. Upon graduation from Chelsea High School in 1960 he joined the US Navy and served four years. Bob married the former Barbara Holcomb of Vinita on September 29, 1967 in Ketchum and he was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Wiles was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Vinita Masonic Lodge and Tulsa Scottish Rites. Other activities include, the American Legion, former member of the Lions Club a Boy Scout leader and little league coach as well as an active member of the Democratic party. Bob was an electrician and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical workers # 584 in Tulsa and a graduate of its four year apprenticeship. He also was a self employed electrician in Vinita, and retired from the Oklahoma Forensic Center. His hobbies included playing his guitar, his dog Tuffy, Playing pitch, his chili recipes, helping with the Masonic fish fries and his grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Jim Wiles, Janice Nartker, Bonita Nelson, Edith Pederson and David Wiles. Survivors include his wife Barbara of the home, two sons and families, Keith and Michelle Wiles and Jake of the Woodlands, TX, Patrick and Meghan Wiles and Dennon, Brett, Keyerra and Ayden of Webb City, MO, and brother Ben Wiles Jr. of Fairfax, VA. Funeral services will be 10:00 Wednesday February 8, 2012 at Luginbuel Funeral Home with Pastor Skip McClain officiating.. Visitation will be Tuesday February 7 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Private interment services will be held at a later date. The family requests donations to the Shriner's Children's Burn Fund, Masonic charities or a Vinita charity of their choosing.
