Bonnie Galanis

A native of Bartlesville, Bonnie Louise Dixon was born in Bartlesville on May 22, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Roy Vern and Odessa C. "Dess" (Lynn) Dixon. She began her elementary education in the Bartlesville community schools. The Dixon family moved to Copan, Oklahoma during her youth where she continued her education in the Copan community, graduating with the Senior Class of 1951. Bonnie and Jimmy Dean Loper were married and they made their home in Copan and Lubbock, Texas prior to returning to the Copan community. Bonnie was employed by the Union National Bank in Bartlesville. She and George Konstantino Galanis, Jr. were married in Claremore, Oklahoma on April 8, 1961 and they have made their home in Bartlesville since that time. Bonnie was employed as a Doctor's Assistant from 1975 until 1987 in the private medical practice of Dr. V. Lee Vinyard, M.D. George was employed by the Reda Pump Company for 43 years and during his tenure of service with Reda, Bonnie and George traveled extensively throughout the United States and many foreign countries. At the time of George's retirement, he was serving as Water Systems Manager for the Western Hemisphere. Bonnie and George have continued living in Bartlesville since that time. Bonnie and George were members of the East Cross United Methodist Church and Bonnie was formerly a member of the Copan United Methodist Church. She was President of the Auxiliary of the National Water Well Association during George's tenure of service as President of the National Water Well Association. Bonnie loved traveling and attended the Medical Symposium in Switzerland and Austria. She also enjoyed her month-long trip to Germany in October 1971. One of the highlights of each year for Bonnie was decorating for the holidays in preparation for family and friends gathering to celebrate. This was always a special delight for her. Another special highlight included enjoying the outdoors scenery which surrounded the family home in Bartlesville. Many things were important to Bonnie, and these also included her two sisters, Colleen and Deloras, with whom she visited via telephone, sometimes several times a day. Surviving are her loving and devoted husband, George Konstantino Galanis, Jr., of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Pamela Anne (Loper) Clark and her husband, Jerry, of Rockwall, Texas and Mrs. Trina Gayle (Loper) Hedges and her husband, "Jim", of Bartlesville; one son, George Konstantino Galanis, II and his wife, Heather, of Bartlesville; ten grandchildren, Ryan Wayne Clark and his wife, Amy, of Rockwall, Texas, Brandon Ashley Clark and his wife, Jody, of McKinney, Texas, Celin McKenzie (Clark) Ferren and husband, Beau, of Fate, Texas, Preston Dixon Clark of Rockwall, Texas, Dr .Adam Spencer Milroy and his wife, Rhonda, of Allen, Texas, Tyler Leland Milroy and his wife, Dr. Laura Milroy, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Marci (Hedges) Bach and her husband, Garrett, of San Diego, California, James David "Jimmy" Hedges, of Fort Collins, Colorado, Ashley Rae (Hedges) Smith and her husband, Steve, of Provo, Utah, and Andrew Michael George Konstantino Galanis, of Bartlesville; ten great-grandchildren, Lindi Jones, Landon Clark, Emily Clark, Taylor Clark, Colbie Clark, Silas Clark, Kaitlyn Bach, Brooklyn Bach, Brayden Milroy and Jack Smith; two sisters, Mrs. Colleen (Dixon) Baker and her husband, Carl, of Copan and Mrs. Deloras (Dixon) Johnson, of Bartlesville; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Elenia (Galanis) (Campbell) Heflen and her husband, Jack, of Tulsa; one niece, Mrs. Elaine (Baker) Hintze and her husband, Richard, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; one nephew, Bradley "Brad" Johnson and his wife, Ginger, of rural Copan; and other special friends/relatives, Neva and Joe Jeter, Daisy Mathews, Helen (Dees) Werder, the late Patricia Kay (Cassidy) Lee, her husband, Bruce A. Lee, Elmer and Wanda Jackson, Ellen (Atterberry) (Lynn) Creekmore and her daughter, Judy (Lynn) Green; as well as great-nephews and nieces, Charity Hintze, Jeff Hintze, Jordan Hintze and his wife, Sonja, Kayla Johnson and Clint Johnson, Calveta Baker Lyons and her husband, Rev. Willard C. Lyons, Jr., Kim Baker Barnett and her husband, Tracy, and Clayton Baker and his wife, Jennifer. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Roy V. Dixon and Odessa C. "Dess" (Lynn) Dixon; nephew, Carl Marvin Baker, Jr.; her maternal aunt, Zella Avis "Aunt Avis" (Lynn) Hobson and her husband, Harold Newell Hobson "Uncle Harold"; three paternal aunts, Lucy Dixon, Ruby Dixon and Julia (Dixon) Shrum; cousins, Maxey Eugene Hobson, Martha Evelyn Lynn; two maternal uncles, Billy Eugene Lynn and Roy Vern "R.V." Lynn; and her beloved brother-in-law, Carl Johnson.
