Bonnie Jean Peebles, 79 year old Big Cabin resident, died Thursday May 21, 2009 at the Craig General Hospital in Vinita, after an extended illness. She was born April 14, 1930 in Searcy County, Arkansas to Troy M. and Floy M. (Gray) Baker. Bonnie married John Dale Peebles on December 24, 1946 in Winfield, Kansas, he preceded her in death on May 28, 1994. She was the co-owner and operator of the Frying Pan restaurant in Adair. Bonnie loved to work, fish, take care of her yard and flowers, she was also an artist. She attended the Pleasant Hope Baptist Church near Adair. The family includes: her two daughters, Linda Goins and husband Thomas Hughes, Mary Ellen Floyd and husband Carl all of Adair; a step-son J.D. Gray; sisters Betty Bendler of Wyandotte, Pat Pollock of Spavinaw; her brother Jerry Baker of Wyandotte; grandchildren, Danette Blevins, Erik Goins, Randy Goins and Adrien Jones; great-grandchildren, James Eastin, Jarrod Eastin, Greyson Goins, Rhett Goins, Cordell Goins, Kaisey Jones and Shaya Emerson. Preceding her in death, were her husband, parents, two brothers Donny Baker, Howard Dean (Dinky) Baker, grandsons, Patrick Goins and Chris Floyd. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Hope Baptist Church near Adair, with Pastors Eddy Matthews and George Vaughn officiating.
