C H Betterton, Grove resident, died Sunday morning outside Mulberry, Arkansas, doing what he loved, driving a truck. He was born April 25, 1931 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to his parents, Ernest C. and Ruth (Knight) Betterton. C H served his country in the US Army and after being Honorably Discharged, started his long career as a truck driver. C H was a simple person, enjoying the important things in life. During his 60 years as a truck driver, C H traveled all over the continent of North America. He saw many sights that some of us only dream of seeing. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Donna, Helen, Ernest, Curtis, and Perry; great-grandchildren, Joshua and David. C H leaves many loving memories with his family, wife Jean; sons, Charles, Michael and Alan; daughters, GeorgeAnn, Cathy, Shelly, Jeanette, Sheila, and Shaun; sisters, Phoebe and Margie; 38 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and many, many great-great grandchildren. Services celebrating C H's life will be 2:00 PM Friday February 22, 2013 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove. The Grove Veterans Ritual Team will provide military honors.
